Ms Wong Soo Chih – LL.B (Hons), National University of Singapore, Advocates & Solicitor Singapore, read law in Singapore and was called to the Bar in Singapore in 1987. She is the co-founder of Ho, Wong & Partners, a partnership of 20 years prior to conversion of the firm to HO WONG LAW PRACTICE LLC in 2014 where she is one of the Directors of the law corporation.
Soo Chih has been practising as a trial lawyer in Singapore for over 20 years. Her practice is evenly divided between matrimonial disputes, corporate insolvency, civil litigation, debt collections, business disputes, probate and adoptions.
After graduating from National University of Singapore in 1987, Soo Chih started her legal career at Allen & Gledhill. She set up the Research Department, the first amongst Singapore law firms and built up the database of MLJ cases and corporate-precedents.
Thereafter, she practised in the litigation department under Senior Counsel Mr K. Shanmugam. She was involved in the 1990 Pertamina case (tracing and constructive fiduciary) and 1992 Colour Touch case (corporate insolvency and breach of fiduciary duties). She also headed the debt collection department which represented major financial institutions in their claims.
In 1994, Soo Chih acted as counsel for the trustees in the interesting case of the Estate of Wong Yoon Fee, deceased in Originating Summons No. 709 of 1989 to ascertain the class of beneficiaries. Recently she successfully acted for a client in a family dispute over a property amongst siblings in OS NO. 514 of 2010 which spanned over 2 decades of documentations to determine the issue of resulting and constructive trust.
